Are You A Business Opportunity Seeker Or An Entrepreneur?

Are you a business opportunity seeker or an entrepreneur?

I am sure you are curious as to why this is even “a thing.” Or what the difference is between the two. Let’s start off with a few definitions:

– A business opportunity seeker would be one who is always looking for the next big break, business idea or get rich quick opportunity.
– An entrepreneur is one who assumes the risks and management for a business.
– An investor is one who puts money into something, bonds, stocks, businesses, projects with the intention of making a profit.
– A serial-entrepreneur would be a person who owns and/or manages more than one business.

Alot of people are of the misconception that they are serial entrepreneurs and/or investors when infact they are actually opportunity seekers. So I ask you again, are you a business opportunity seeker? Let’s take quick test to find out:

1. Are you involved in multiple gigs or businesses and are overwhelmed by them?

2. Do you find it difficult to say NO?

3. Do you find yourself saying yes to a new business idea or investment, “just because it makes sense” or “sounds good”?

4. Is it hard for you to say NO to something because it sounds promising?

5. Are you drawn to opportunities based on the results of others and/or what you think you can get out of it only?

6. Are you a part of several endeavors none or most of which you are not passionate about?

7. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being super efficient. Rate your productivity.

If 5 or more of these sound like you, then my friend you are in the danger zone.

This means that you are a business opportunity seeker. You jump at the first appearance of a shiny object or huge compensation plan. Not on your passion and the holisitic picture of what is being presented to you. Often in network marketing, alot of people cry out “scam.” Mainly because they ran at what they thought was an opportunity without considering all of the variables such as time, skill set, resources, benefits outside of compensation. These people jump from business to business often in search of the perfect opportunity “that will make them rich overnight.” No such a thing exists. Even investors like Warren Buffet, and entrepreneurs like Zuckerberg & Bezos had to put in time, money and loads of work. They developed strategies and plans. Went through phases of trial and error. Failures & wins.

Stop seeking out that perfect “get rich quick skim,” and start seeking out what you are passionate about. Or a product that you believe in and better yet consume yourself. Start looking for companies/opportunities that benefit you and your growth in several ways. True money & profit are the ultimate objectives and outcomes. However, if that and only that is your focus you will find yourself being drawn and pulled into “the next best thing!”
